Best place to sell a car??

Question

I know this is a bad time of the year to sell a car, but I was just wondering apart from Auto-trader and Ebay where the best place to sell my car is. Ive been trying since June to get rid of it, and not having much luck. Its a tidy car and I'm asking way below the price guides.

I'm not doing Craiglist or Gumtree as I have tried them and just got the usual scamming emails.

Can Anyone help at all?

Give us some more details of make, model, mileage, price, etc - just to get some idea of what may be holding it back.

You're asking about the right money, but it would need to have a full history & the dents sorted to get that - there are so many used cars about that any little thing can discount your vehicle.

I would also suggest ditching the headlights or not mentioning them in a listing - some people are put off by modifications, and it's not a car with 'boy racer' appeal - you could probably sell them seperately & make a few quid.

In many cases, headlights are swapped to cover up a minor front end shunt - hence the scepticism.

One of the best ways to sell is have it parked somewhere busy with a 'for sale' sign on it. Autotrader is good, but there are 656 Passats on there at the moment between £1k & £3k, and that means you're gonna struggle to get yours seen above the rest.

Have you tried an ad in your local newspaper?

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago - no interest at all when the car was in autotrader but when I advertised it in the local paper it was sold within a couple of days.
