  1. Depends where you live, how far you are willing to travel, and your personal preference.

    North America:

WHISTLER (The only glacier skiing offered in the summer in North America)

Everyone knows of Whistler, and its great glacier skiing, however, be sure to bring rain gear, as your almost guaranteed a day of rain.

    Europe (7-8 hour flight):

    ZERMATT, SWITZERLAND

Four-thousand meter high peaks, great nightlife, great shopping, family friendly, very resort-like. Don't forget the world-famous attraction: the Matterhorn.

    SAAS FEE, SWITZERLAND

Also four-thousand meter high peaks, excellent skiing, very sunny (bring 50+SPF sunscreen), very cultured, amazing food, less populated then Zermatt (more seclusion), village-like.

    LES DEUX ALPES, FRANCE

In my opinion, the best of the French Alps, everything is in close proximity with one another, also a very alive nightlife... what's not-so-great: the glacier can be very congested at different times during the day.

    TIGNES, FRANCE

Plenty of terrain (shared with Val D'Isere), accommodations  close to slopes... the downside is the lack of apres-ski activities.

...I have yet to ski the Austrian Alps, although I have heard many good things of the skiing and off-slope activities.

    South America (10-13 hour flight):

TERMAS DE CHILLAN or EL COLORADO, CHILE

If your looking for the best skiing in the world, Chile is definitely your destination, however, it is not too family friendly, and it lacks in apres-ski activities. Also, because it is in the Southern Hemisphere, it is winter there during our summer.

I would have to recommend Saas-Fee, Switzerland as the overall best ski resort, especially in the summer; never below -5 Celcius on the glacier, and never below 15 Celcius in the village. Very well rounded, it's a little taste of everything: French, Italian, and German culture meshed into a town filled with great food, wine, people, and shopping. Of course, we cannot forget the excellent varying terrain and prime ski conditions.

  2. Um iderno wher u live.

but Whistler Canda has some great skiing, itz a huge resort that is a combonation of 2 conjoining ski resorts,

Lake tahoe is also pretty cool.  Heavenly, squaw, northstar, alpine meadows.

    Yupp.

  3. Chile and Argentina. It's good there because in the outhern emisphere is it winter and the Andes mountain range runs through the countries.

  4. In Austria.

  5. A Basin in Colorado.

    Mt. Hood in Oregon

    Ski mountaineering in the Cascades

    Antarctica (austal summer)

Southern hemisphere mountain ranges (outside of Antarctica)

  6. 'WOW" is all i can say to that last answer.  They deserve the best answer for sure.

  7. New Zealand. We havewinter during your spring summer and we have awesome skiing over here in the South Island. I have skiied like all over the place and i still think NZ's great. I love Treble Cone. I also think switzerland is an awesome place to go to

  8. STRYNEFJELLET in western Norway

  9. Where ever you can afford to go. Whistler Blackcomb is great, Mt. Hood Oregon and Mt Bachelor Or. also offer glacier skiing through the summer. Hood is usually going until August, Bachelor to June.

  10. I'll throw in some backcountry areas as well....no lifts, but good spring skiing.

Tuckerman's Ravine in New Hampshire...it doesn't usually open until mid-March when the chances for Avalanches have subsided and people ski it through mid June most years. It's got a great drop! (Haven't skied it yet, but planning to do so this year.)

Cameron Pass in Colorado. It's kinda between Fort Collins and Steamboat...closer to Steamboat though. Once you break out of treeline, it's got a few excellent runs and then skiing the trees on the way out is a blast. (skied it in late April.)

Rocky Mountain National Park...ski like a local the first weekend the road is open, park your car up top, ski down towards Estes Park, and when you are at the bottom, hitch a ride back up to the top...ski again, or get in your car and go for a beer and burger. (skied it on Memorial Day.)

Arapahoe Basin, CO....lift-serviced, but open well into June. A-Basin can get slushy at the base (10,000ft) but the snow is usually still good at the top. (I've skied it in late April and on Memorial Day.)

  11. mt hood. they have all the good camps

  12. Montana is pretty good in the spring.  Plus they got a ton of snow this year.  Try Whitefish Mountain.

  13. Southern Hemisphere...it is winter there.

  14. Whistler Canada is a very nice mountain the weather there a great. I have been there about 5 times and out of the 5 times only 1 time I have had a bad day skiing because of the weather. You can check out this site for more info on the Lift Tickets and how long they are open too. You could aslo ski after the mountain closes on the Glacier it is wounderfull.
