Best place to stay in Higgins Beach, Scarborough Maine ?

looking for first hand (or second hand) advice on where to stay when visiting Higgins Beach, in Scarborough Maine. We are a family of 4. There's all the hotel sites, and property management sites - but I was looking for some real live people-advice...

this may be out of place, but, if i were you, i would stay on bailey island, or even anywhere else in harpswell. it is soooo beautiful. its where i live. you should stay at the log cabin inn. it has a beautiful view of the oceon and a nice big pool!
