Hi I will be flying into Phuket at 7:30pm their time in December.

This is too late to get to Phi Phi Island so we'll need to stay in Phuket for the night... where is close enough to the Ferry or close to the airport that anyone can suggest?

Thanks

Plus is the ferry to Phi Phi island expensive? I got a range of prices but don't know what's true... (I'm in OZ so AUD or THB)

  1. This place is cute and not to expensive. It's not a resort, but if you just need to crash before hitting Phi Phi, it's good and clean and the owner is really nice and helpful. They'll even get some dinner around for you. My friends stopped over there and I dropped in to visit. It's very close to the ferry and easy to arrange a ride. It should cost about 400 baht for the cab from the airport and will take 30-45 minutes. There really are not many places by the airport.

Ferry tickets are 600 baht, that's the real price, I promise :) That's the price if you have your own tranportation to the peir and buy the ticket there.

    Enjoy your trip!

edit--I saw your other Q. I've never used the site, but that hotel is fantastic. You should have a great time there!

  2. The first person who answered is telling you the truth because the ferry itself ended up costing me 900 baht (I went through a tour agency so the bus to the ferry was included but seems like alot compared to the first persons answer) : (

Heres a video of phi phi leh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrYb2D3wy...

We stayed on phi phi don and my gf didnt want to go see it. If you go, you must see the other island, not just phi phi don. Its really phi phi leh that is beautiful.

  3. i also paid THB900 at that time for the tour to phi phi island, this include the pick up/round trip transport from hotel-ferry terminal, ferry ticket, lunch at phi phi don & free snorkeling. there's diving also but additional charge.

Phuket town is quite small actually. at that time we stayed on Imperial Hotel: 51 Phuket Rd., A.Muang

    Ph: (076) 212311, 217438-9

its reasonable price & clean. like a 3 star standard hotel.

  4. I'd recommend you to stay at the phuket Airport hotel http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels... .  They will pick you up at the airport free of charge if you ask. The proprietor was delightful. Liked the way that it seems to be a family run affair which gives it a personal touch. Had a lovely dinner as well and everyone couldn't be more helpful.

Just about every second shop (in Phuket) has a tour desk. They will have brochures of all the tours you can take. Have a look at them; get some prices and then book. Most agents take bookings up to 9pm the night before you want to go on the trip. There’s a lot to see and do. One recommendation is to take the drive to Promthep Cape & Rawai.  There is also an aquarium that you might want to check out.

A number of tour companies offer trips to Phi Phi; most are very good and safe. Just remember:  you get what you pay for. A good trip to Phi Phi should cost you between 2400 Baht and 2800Baht. When you find them offering trips for under 2000Baht, there is usually a reason why they are so cheap.

All Phi Phi Islands visits include pickup from your hotel lobby, some snorkeling, and relaxing for a couple of hours on their clean beaches.  None of the trips are more than 10 hours in length (even the half day trip is also 7-8 hours). In all, they are all safe and cover exactly same locations. But the tour info desk staff will advise you best.

    have a nice trip!
