  3. You gotta check out Venice Beach, but before you go there i suggest you learn first the locals can be harsh and territorial down there.

  4. LOTSA GOOD SPOTS HERE in San Diego right now...Im off to take pics right now

  5. Venice Beach  lowers  diffenently not ready for mavericks if you just started

  6. good choice on learning to surf. it's a blast. i'm not too familiar with many of the beaches in southern california, but check out a local surf school in your town or one you could drive to. it's usually best to get some professional instruction so you know where to go from there. after that, it's just practice and going out as much as you can!

as for buying or renting a board: most (if not all) surf schools have wetsuits and boards included with lessons. they typically also rent them for like $10/day. at least the ones here in santa cruz. good luck!

  7. I would say san diego

  8. nice calm surf spot like doho, or rivi's or down State park, but you might want to try churches or old mans too...

  9. Maybe a little more specific on location. Socal covers a lot of coastline. If you are here in OC/LA I would say San Onofre is the best place to learn and the people there are really cool. some old timers might even help you.

anyway good luck and have fun. summer is almost here!

  10. Lower Trestles....and No on the Toll Road!!!!
