We have a best buy, circuit city and a radio shack. There is not a whole lot here. It is a 385 Sanyo. The tape got stuck and my husband forced it out. I don't think he made a good choice by doing that.

  1. Nope - just go buy a new one, if you can even FIND a stand-alone VCR at a store new, they are about 30-40 bucks.

Most places carry VCR-DVD combo's for a little more than that. No one really does repairs anymore on VCR's

  2. Hi pattypumpkin,

VCRs aren't worth repairing. You can pick them up at garage sales for $10 or $15.

Your other alternative is to buy a new combo VHS / DVD. You can find them new for around $50.

  3. I am not sure if radio shack does repairs of any kind, but you might look into buying another one if you can still find one. it is not like the price is sky high.

  4. none of those offer repair services any longer. You will need to look for independant reps to get help, but it may be better to replace in the long run, it will be cheaper.
