  1. Protaras, Cyprus!!

Good selection of hotels, great beaches; Fig Tree Bay etc, good selection of bars and restaurants ( The Olympus, Park, Island Affair, Il Basilico) and lots of things for a 6 year old to do, all within walking distace of each other

Agia Napa is just a short drive/ bus ride/taxi ride away, and again, has some great beaches; Liminaki Beach, Nisi Beach, Adams Beach, Makronissoss Beach, a good selection of bars and restaurants ( Tonys Taverna, The Corner Restaurant, Vrassoss fish Restaurant ) a good sized funfair, and a huge waterpark.

Safe and friendly, the Cypriots love families, and children in particular.

Try to avoid late July and August, as this is when its at its hottest here, and most of Cypriot industry take their holidays throughout the whole of August, so it gets very busy here then!!

Its lovely here, and a perfect place to bring your daughter!

  2. Firstly - not Madeira; fabulous place and lovely for adults but absolutely nothing for children.  No sandy beach without catching a ferry at 8.0 a.m. in Funchal to another island.

You don't say what your interests are - Mum and Dad need to enjoy themselves, too.

Our daughter enjoyed holidays on the Balearic and the Greek Islands (we all loved Ios  - and the Magic Bus across the Island!).  We preferred Menorca but I think she liked Majorca better.  Cyprus was great because with all the British influence, we knew the supermarkets could provide her with familiar foods.

Her first trip into Europe was a Camp Site in France, a holiday favourite repeated many times.  Several possibilities, of taking your own tent, hiring a ready-erected with equipment in situ, a caravan or a "chalet".  Most of the sites have children's clubs so kids get a chance to mix and play with several Nationalities.  The sites are located all over France, close to beaches and in the Countryside, from our favourite areas of Port Manec in Brittanny and the Vendee  to places for older kids in, say, The Ardeche region.

If you (or anyone else) are interested in camping in Europe and live in the Midlands, the Boating, Caravan and Camping Show is on at the NEC later this month and there are countless stands giving information and brochures.

  3. spain,greece,tenerife

  4. Try somewhere interesting. Berlin, Prague, Paris, Madrid... those are the places they'll look back to when they're 20 and remember. Everyone's going to have the usual 'Greece, Cyprus, Menorca' sort of holidays, for their first time maybe make it a bit more special?

  5. I've never been abroad, however my sister in law says France is nice. She takes her 3 kids. The French are apparently very family orientated.

  6. My Daughter loves taking my Granddaughters to Italy, they love children over there.

  7. Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Lanzarote xox

  8. Any country that allows children to enter but not leave would be a good place.

  9. Do you want activity or wonder? How long are you going for and when?

I'd say Italy has it all.

Venice maybe? -Lots of ice cream, bridges to cross, carnival masks, boats and real pizza/pasta.

It is like stepping back in time.  You could watch the 'Thief Lord' together before you go to see what her reaction is first. The Italians are great with children and you will have a good time too!

    Fantastico!!

  10. doesn't really matter as she'll love it just for the novelty.

when i was that age we lived by the sea, on the isle of wight. our annual holidays were in leicester of all places! but we loved it!

  11. http://www.eurocamp.co.uk

I went on holiday to the Dordogne in France, stopping overnight on the way down, and stayed in a self catering villa. While I was there I went in a Eurocamp because I'd never been in one and I was curious. All I can say is that the one I went in at Sarlat was amazing and I really wished I had taken my kids to these places when they were younger.

The tents were excellent, the facilities for the kids were excellent and it was safe for them to run around. Being in France the adults were well catered for with a cafe and a good restuarant for if you didn't fancy cooking yourself.

The market at Sarlat was mouth watering!

I don't know if it's your thing but I think it's worth a look. The link is above.

PS It's not too expensive either.

Have a great holiday wherever you go. Cheers
