  1. Try 'lower marsh' otherwise known as (the cut) bud, there's a nice bar in LM rd. that does 'original guiness', it's worth a look if anything!....

  2. Tas on The Cut or as one of the other replies suggested Ev (which is owned by Tas).  Tas is more laid back and quieter, Ev is more trendy and loud.

  3. Maria's cafe on Lower Marsh.

The food is good and the price is great

it is a great place to eat. trust me :)

  4. Maria's cafe on Lower Marsh does great cheap thai, and Meson Don Felipe on The Cut does amazing Tapas in an authentic setting. Masters Super Fish on Waterloo Road is a great and cheap fish & chip restaurant and is licenced.

Unfortunately they're probably all closed on a Sunday, so go get a table at Ev, just off The Cut down the road next to the Anchor and Hope, after the Young Vic theatre.

It's Turkish, and has great food and a really cheap and filling set menu. Staff are nice too.

  5. There are some great places around Royal Festival Hall at Southbank, just a few minutes walk from Waterloo station.

Ping Pong - Chinese dim sum

    Canteen - British food

    Giraffe - funky cafe/restaurant

  6. YOU could do worse than a BR sandwich,

    but then only slightly

  7. The Waterloo Bar and Kitchen is a nice, easy-going brasserie type of place - friendly waiters and good food. I've only been there at lunch, but it's become my favourite in the area. 131 Waterloo Road.

Meson Don Felipe is fantastic for tapas with a bunch of friends, but you have absolutely no chance of getting in without booking well in advance. I haven't been able to drop in there and get a table for more than 5 years. It's always jam-packed.

Obviously it's a personal thing, but I think Tas, the Turkish place, has a bland 'chain' feel to it, and I don't rate the food. Ev has a great atmosphere and a groovy look, but again, the food is pretty average Part of same chain). Great place to drink, though.

You could also have a look in the South Bank Centre, opposite Waterloo station, about 5 mins walk. Skylon is BEAUTIFUL, best view in London, and the grill is reasonably priced and lovely menu. (restaurant is WAY pricy). There is also a row of new restaurants along the walkway by the Festival Hall, including a nice sushi place and another tapas bar, where you could probably find something to take your fancy. Have a nice time!

  8. there is this restaurant called 'garfunkles' its really nice and there is soo much food to choose from and also a salad bar..nice place!

i think on oxford street which is near by!
