Trying to organise our Honeymoon for March 09 and are going to go to the Caribbean. Problem is there are so many different islands we have no idea which one to go to!

Does anyone have a recommendation?

We want:

-Great beaches

-Not too crowded but still some options for doing a few things

-Not really expensive, but not backpacker style budget either.

Any ideas? Thank you!!

  1. Casa De Campo is a beautiful resort in the Dominican Republic, with up to 6 bedroom villas!

So is the St. James Club in Antigua. Antigua is a relatively small island, but there is tons to do there, and the resort is gorgeous.

Atlantis is nice in the Bahamas, Paradise Island.

I have also been to Turks and Caicos, Puerto Rico, and many other islands!

  2. If you are looking for great beaches, desertic islands and not too expensive, you will have to visit Belize. The spectacular beach Placencia is one of the top beaches in the Caribbean...another options could be Los Roques, which is actually part of Venezuela, and has some of the most amazing beach landscapes in the Caribbean...the third option coul be Grace Bay Beache, in Turks and Caicos...bit in general the Caribbean has the best beaches in the world.

  3. You might try this site to help you pick an island to visit. You can select criteria that's important to you, then it makes suggestions for Caribbean islands you might like: http://sun.inspireddiversions.com/sun/pi...

  4. U SHOULD REALLY REALLY REEEAAALLLYY GO 2 PR PUERTO RICO!! IT IS WORTH IT!

  5. I liked Aruba. I also loved St. Thomas, and Cozumel Mexico. Cozumel has fantastic beaches, crystal clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving, and the average water temperature is 85 degrees frnheit. The American dollar goes so far there. You can laze around and be alone or swim with dolphins. You can bar hop and make a stop at Carlos 'n' Charlie's if you like to have fun, or take a storll on the beach at sunset. The most beautiful and romantic sunsets I ever saw where in Cozumel. The Taxi's are quite cheap, and depending on how you like to vacation, the have small hotels, and big resorts. There are all sorts of water sports if you like that sort of thing, and most of the locals are quite friendly and can direct you where to go if you tell them what you need. I snorkeled in 120 feet of water and you could see clear to the bottom, it's spectacular!

  6. any place in the caribbean is a nice place to go,but you also have the option to go on a wonderful cruise ,there are so many beautiful cruise liners going weekly from port of Miami for seven days.

  7. You should Realllyy go to St.Lucia; I went there once and now i go back every summer for the carnival and in May for the Jazz Festival!

This place got some BEAUTIFUL historical sites. You should really visit their site

You will Love and enjoy it.

  8. my personal advice is Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. lovely beach, not too expensive. try to stay in a 5 star hotel while down there. check out packages on applevacations.com

you will notice that dominican republic is probably the cheapest island in the carribean. not "backpacker style budget" at all. 4 or 5 star hotels with all inclusive meals and drinks, multiple pools, right on the beach, international tourist scene.

  9. Sandals St. Lucia is great for unwinding after a stressful wedding!!!! It's Third World so it's very intimate and secluded and they have several nature-oriented tours you can take if you choose. The island people are very humble and love their lives-they treat tourists with the utmost respect and kindness. They have the notorious turquoise water and beautiful sand. It's such a romantic place to spend with your new spouse!!!

I've also been to the Bahamas with my hubby and it's a different atmosphere. It's more Americanized with casinos, night clubs, and upscale shopping. They still have great tours (as does every island, I'm sure). It's great if you're looking for nightlife entertainment. They're trademark is their gorgeous beaches with ENDLESS clear, turquoise water.
