  1. I don't blame your mom for hating Blackpool, I do too!!

How about Minehead, there's a railway nearby, and also Butlins.

I don't normally recommend Newquay, in Cornwall, It's not among my favourite places, (we call it the Blackpool of the South) But it's got plenty nice places nearby for your mom to visit, and also has the Blackpool feel for you, AND the train staiton is just a couple of minute walk from the town.Could be just the place.

  2. North Wales is beautiful ... have a look at this place ...

there's train stations at both Rhyl and Abergele and a frequent bus service that runs from Rhyl right along the coast to Llandudno ... so you can get the train and then jump on the bus right to the front entrance of the park ... also it means it's easy to get on the bus if you want a day out in Rhyl, Conwy, Llandudno etc ... also National Express run along that route too

  3. The Pontins site in Southport is not far from the train station, if I remember correctly it only takes 10-15mins to walk or you could get a bus from just outside the camp. Taxis were easy as well.

  4. Why not have a look at www.parkholidays.co.uk, and have a look at Dawlish Sands? The train station here is virtually on the beach, and the park itself is within walking distance. Dawlish itself is very nice.

Most of their caravan parks are very nice, with good, clean caravans, and plenty of on-site entertainment. I have stayed at the Waterside Park caravan site which is between Paignton and Brixham, but  I'm not sure if there is a nearby station. But check it out, I'm sure you would find something here.

I don't know much about Butlins or Pontins, so, sorry, i can't really help you there.

  5. Best place to go is..

    Quaywest..

    LOVE IT

  6. I recommend to you the Isle of Bute in Scotland, it's not remote and easily reached from Glasgow by train and ferry, but is completely unspoilt by industry, tourist traps or retirement homes and caravans. Take a look at this site that has a whole collection of articles, traveller experiences, blogs, photos and reviews:

  7. Clacton on Sea has all you need - plus a good sunshine record as it's on the south-east coast.

  8. How about Centre Parks?  I have heard that has everything you need in one place.
