Best places to purchase houseplants in Austin?

i'd like to find a place to buy houseplants that carries healty plants and stock a nice variety. good prices are always of interest.

  1. If you live in North Austin, I'd go to It's A Jungle on 907 Kramer Lane.  I love that place.  The guy who owns it is always available for honest consultation.

    OK, it doesn't have a huge variety -- it specializes in roses and orchids.  But you can get beautiful small citrus trees (yes, you can grow them indoors if you have the space and sunlight), bougainvilleas, cactus, and a lot of things you'd never expect.

    Absolutely -- go wherever you need to when you want to stock up on everyday houseplants.  But go here when you want to get the FUN stuff!  Even my horticulturist friends were impressed when I put home-grown key limes in their drinks last summer.

    They have succulents and cacti along with an assortment of other really interesting plants and yard details (also, they have a design studio attached to them).  It's a cool place and their plant prices are reasonable.  Note- they sell compost and such too.  They are very helpful and have lots of Texas growing information at their store.
