Best places to travel without a passport?

I'm a legal resident of the US. I have an alien card good for 10 yrs., don't have a passport (yet)- so where can I travel without a passport. I just traveled from St. Croix and didn't have a problem vacationing there.

Good places to visit: try out west in the desert, such as The Grand Canyon, or if you enjoy gambling and night-life, Las Vegas.

Plenty of nice places within the US to visit.  Search for good vacation spots here in the states.  Heck, just traveling to a different state would be worth it.  Except New Mexico.  I'm sorry to anyone living there but i've driven through it during a road trip and there was nothing there of interest to me.
