  8. You could visit Dalhousie --- Khajjiar in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. These spots are  more leisurely, less touristy than Shimla and Manali  which are often crowded and pricey in the summer.

Set at an altitude of 6660 plus ft above, the temp. in May-June is around 30 deg.  Both places are spectacular, set amidst dense pine forests in the Dhauladhar range with views of snow-topped peaks of the Himalayas. It's a hiker's paradise.

Khajjar, a compact hill-station, is referred to as "Mini-Switzerland" for its idyllic beauty and quiet surroundings. Additionally, there's plenty of outdoor trails for exploring and hiking and soaking in the tranquil beauty, a widlife sanctuary at Kalatop with a Forest Reserve Resthouse that you can spend a few nights in, while inside the sanctuary  (prior bookings neeed) and a 150 year old Laxmi-Narayan temple closeby.

If the idea of meeting people appeals, beyond the landscape of tranquil mountains and valleys, go farther, another 127 kms via Luhru, and you'll get to Dharamsala  and McLeodganj -- explore another facet in the mosaic of India -- an old hardy culture, history, art, religion and colorful life of a great mountain people -- Tibetans who have created a home  on a hill-town in the Kangra valley.

Then there is the incomparable Badrinath and Kedarnath in the Garhwal area of the mountains, with a visit to Gangotri where you can see the glacier --the source of the Ganga amidst several snow clad peaks,  in Uttaranchal to refresh the soul-mind-body connection.

If you can get past the snow requirement -- there are many really beautiful places in the Soutth as well -- nice cool places to beat the heat -- lots in Karantaka as a poster above suggests and of course, Munnar, another prime spot in Kerala too.

  9. You can visit srinagar(Jammu Kashmir) or hill station like shimla

So beat the heat this summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  10. Among hill stations, I have visited Mussoorie, Nainital in the north and Ooty, Kodaikanal and Coorg in south India. The best one is undoubtedly is Mussoorie.

But, if you want to see snow during the summer you may have to go beyond these. Mussoorie and Nainital do get snowfalls during winters but not in summer while the outhern ones don't get any snowfall. To enjoy snow and real hilly region go to the interiors of Uttaranchal, like Badrinath, Kedarnath and Auli (this one is a ski resort). All the three I mentioned are on the same route and can be covered in a few days. The region is my favorite (I have traveled a lot in India and US).

Other than hills, Goa has the best beaches in India and is also the most tourist friendly place in India. You can easily rent a bike here.. get a map and zoooom. The maps are very accurate and I have roamed almost every nook and corner of Goa just on the basis of those maps. Goa has got a very nice countryside and s**y drives.

Note: You will not find snow even in Srinagar (Kashmir) in summers. If you do plan a Srinagar trip, try extending it till Leh in Laddakh. It is another superb place to be seen in India.

  11. Try Kashmir.... my aunt went thr and they had a blast....or mayb Nepal but thts out of india...or mayb try reasearching it...
