Bathroom gets lots of lights, and plants will be near a radiator. A plant that can tolerate lots of heat and light is best. Ideas?

  1. The pothos is a great idea.  I also had great luck with piggyback plants.  Just don't put either near the radiator.

  2. Golden Pothos (Scindapsus, aka Devil's Ivy) is an ivy plant that will trail away from your planter. We have it growing from two pots at the corners of the bathtub and they completely encircle the tub enclosure. It can tolerate more or less light, and it should be OK with some heat (unfortunately, this is a wild card, I have no experience with plants close to radiators). It is the only plant I can successfully grow without killing, unless I water it too much. It will tell you when it needs to be watered; the leaves lose their luster and wilt. You can get it in a variegated yellow/green or just the dark green leaf varieties.

  3. Most house plants would love being in the bathroom. Some of the plants that are most likely to do  best that I have and are totally safe for dogs are,

    African Violets

    Boston ferns

    ZZ plant

    Spider plants

    Miniature roses

    Common geranium

And here is a list of plants that are toxic to dogs
