Hello all,

I've a long time ballet teacher and dancer, but just recently began teaching my first pointe class. It's very difficult for me because I'm learning from the beginning all over again. Uggh. As a dancer, you know what to do because it's second nature, but teaching it to a bunch of students to whom it is completely alien...I almost can't remember how I learned its been so long.

Anyhoo, I have a student who I just can't get into the right shoe. She wears about a size 7 in street and is about medium in width, but her heels are so narrow. I can't seem to find a good shoe for her that a) isn't too hard in the shank with a narrow heel or b) has too low of a vamp with a narrow heel. Both of these issues have come up in finding shoes that fit her, And inhibit her in getting over her arches. (she doesn't have the strongest of muscle tone but her arches are great.)

So... I'm looking for a shoe with moderate arch support in the shank, a relatively high vamp for long toes, and a narrow heel. we were going with Grishkos for a while, but they didn't work out.

I was thinking Freeds? or Capezio Contemporas...

What do you think?
