It's not even 7 am yet, and I'm awake with horrible cramps. I'm really tired and want to sleep some more but they're really bad. What posititons are best to lay in to soothe the pain? I don't have any medicine like Midol, but what else could I do to ease the pain? Best answer in four hours!

  1. Get a hot water bottle and hold it where the cramp is.

I don't like taking medication.  What I usually do is curl up into a ball, kind of like a fetus (lmao) or I lie on my stomach with the hot water bottle.  It kind of helps.

  2. Hot water bottle always helps me, infact I am usuing that right now for the same reason!

Sleeping with knees up on your side can also help (feotal position).

    Good luck!

  3. I found what helps is taking a nice hot shower or bath ... It really worked for me , for my period cramps , and now my growing pains that go along with my pregnancy

  4. are the cramps in the legs? stomache?

for the stomache, i find that laying on my side always hekps soothe the cramps. A warm compress on the abdomen will help ease the cramping as well.

As for th legs, keep them elevated. Prop up some pillows, lay on your back, and keep them up. The blood will not rush to legs and helps soothe it as well.

the best way I have found to relieve cramping without medications is to drink plenty of fluids, water and cranberry juice, and excercise.

I know you are trying to sleep, LoL, but it will help it. Not even heavy excercise, but like walk down the street or do some jumping jacks or run in place.

I hope you feel better soon. Good luck.

  5. what i do is lay with my butt against the wall with my legs in an L shape! it works wonders with me!!!

  6. There are quite a few things you can do.

Drink plenty of fluids. Water, juice, things like that.

Exercise a little bit. Take a short walk, even if it's just around the house, do some stretches, etc.

Take a nice warm bath or shower.

When you lay down, try going into the fetal position, with your legs pulled up towards your chest. Also, a hot water bottle or heating pad will help immensly.

  7. You can always use Advil or any pain medicine (it doesn't have to be specially formatted for periods). Also putting a hot water bottle over the area you are cramping in helps. Or laying in fetal position (on side, legs curled up toward chest).

  8. I would stretch my body out as far as possible. Yoga stretches would be great, actually, it takes the mind off of the pain. Most of all, I would recommend aspirin and a heating pad. Especially a heating pad. It soothes the pain AND makes sleeping easier.

  9. First, turn on music or a tv or something, go to your bed, and lay on your side. Pull your knees to your chest and fall asleep :)

You could also use a hot water bottle or a hot salt bath, but depending where you live, heat might not be the best idea.

If you do take a salt bath, fill the tub with hot water and then salt, and go deeper into it, until you've reached where the cramps are. Sit in there till the water cools!

    Good luck honey :)

  10. take ibuprophen or lay in the fetal position, and try to think about something else something happy.

  11. fetal position.

  12. for me the best thing i did was i would take a hot shower then lay in fetal position and would have a heating pad where they hurt... heat thins blood which makes it feel lots better... which i could do it right now.. but i'm haveing growing pains and not cramps 23 weeks preg... n e ways good luck hope you feel better and later go out and get some midol or something...

  13. lay on the floor, put your feet up on the couch or something like that,  put a heating pad on your back.  This has always helped me and I get some severe cramps.

  14. sit on the couch upside down with your feet hanging over the back on it

  15. i usually sit up and rock back and forth if it gets worse i putt my feet on the bed i lay back first on the floor and i just sit there till it stops try dat ok it helps me

  16. Only solution now available with you is to put your legs in a warm or hot water with little of salt  to the height where the cramp is. Will be fine in about 15

minitues. Take in a lot of water or fluid with salt or sugar
