Best pub counter meal in Victoria Australia?

Of all the pubs that i have ever been to in Victoria i would have to say that the Donnybrook Hotel north of Melbourne is by far the biggest and the best and well priced at that. What are everyones favorite pubs to eat at?

The Corkman in Carlton, for sure. I love their meals, fair priced, and they're massive. So yummy. Great on a cold winters day when uni is getting me down, and there's a wide variety for everyone (I'm a vegetarian, and I'm spoilt for choice...and it's every meat eater's heaven). Traditional Irish fare and lots of the normal things - their nachos are huge, and my bf loves the parma, which are also huge.

Not to mention the awesome atmosphere and the great staff. Definitely my favourite place for a pub meal! :)

i like  going  to  not  so over rated  pubs, that  give  a very traditional , pre historic, ethnical  environment--chinese food is  spicy, indian,  thai, for  a change , from my home cooked food.

I don't think that you can go past the Retreat Hotel in Abbotsford (Melbourne).

Despite being the setting of the Australian television series The Sullivans, no one really frequents this pub for this vague celebrity value. They come for the beer, the superb home-made comfort food, and the homely atmosphere.

Roasts, bangers and mash, fish and chips, all get a guernsey on the menu, meals are served in hearty portions and are cheap.
