Best quartiers/ neighborhoods/ districts to live in @ Nantes?

looking for an apartment (studio flat or whatever) in Nantes. The only thing is, it needs to be pretty cheap (can't do more than 350-375euros top), and in a good place (not ghetto or dangerous, it has to be close to a lot of things, maybe even cute if possible). What areas of town should be looked into? Can you tell me why too?

Thanks

  1. Basically... good luck. Nantes gets more and more expensive. So you will have trouble finding anything in the centre for this money.

Nice quartiers not too far away from the center are the quartier Sainte Anne around the Jules Verne museum. One quartier I always loved to live in was the quartier du Champ de Mars, in between the university hospital and the main station. It's really nice, a bit old but you have a lot of nice little flats and only 5-10 min walking distance from Commerce tram station (the central tram station).

Chantenay is really great but only well connected by bus. So, if you like to go out and you don't have enough money for taxis you need transportation (car, bike, etc). But, you have the nice part and the seedy part of Chantenay, so be careful.

Bourgeois quartiers are Guist'hau, everything around the cathedral and the Prefecture or ile de Versailles.
