Best recording device?

Question

I am in a band, its like a garage band but more accomplished. Does anyone know a good device so that I can record the drums,bass,guitar and vocals and sound better than a crappy taper recorder?

Try this;

  two sure SM 57's  and a fire pod. you can use any software program you like.

(or)

Two SURE SM58's and a $50.00 cassette multi track recorder. Place the mics on each side of you, and record the band while everyone is playing.  THEN - download the cassette to your computer, mixing equal levels on left and right.
