use www.tripadvisor.com to look at different resorts. they give you traveller ratings/ reviews, and pictures/videos posted by travellers. there's always recent reviews.

As for the best, I know good things are always said about Iberostar Varadero in Varadero and Paridisus Rio de Oro in Holguin.

But go on trip advisor and read the reviews

ps. i'm a little surprised at the couple people above that mentioned Tryp Cayo Coco. They're one of the participating resorts for student trips so I wouldn't expect them to be that nice. I stayed at Tryp Varadero a couple years ago, and while it was pretty good, I'm sure there are much better

He he, I just had a premonition Tropicale would pick Tryp Cayo Coco, which without any doubt is a beautiful resort.  Tropicale will know  my choice:  It's  Sol Melia Rio Luna y Mares, Holguin . it's just about perfect; a great beach, beautiful grounds, excellent staff and very good dining.  When you check the reviews on Trip advisor one of the links below you will see many share my opinion.  wherever you chose ensure it's at least a four star, you will love Cuba and  our wonderful Cuban hosts.

I love Tryp Cayo Coco and have made wonderful friends there. It is a beautiful resort with an amazing staff...wonderful people, beautiful accomodations, great food, and the resort is an open, breezy concept from front reception going into the bar/lounge and down to the resort....very Caribbean-style in design.

You will make wonderful friends there too (and well just about anywhere in Cuba).

The beach is just gorgeous with turquoise water and soft powdery white sand.

So many day trips and water activities to do...and can easily relax and not do anything either.

I know that others like Richard K, Havanalover, and Beardo have their favourites too and know excellent areas in Cuba as well.

**Edit: scott_decoy mentioned a couple of excellent ones too. But Tryp is not just for teens and students. Just about every resort that is not 'adults only' will cater to teens...especially when it's March break and other holidays. It's known to be a family resort and it's great for couples too. Like I'd mentioned, there's a lot of life and activities...but if you want to relax and do nothing, you can do so without any interferance.

Tryp Cayo Coco and Tryp Veradero and different from each other even though they're both 'Tryp'.
