Question

Plus who is your teams rivalry?? I'm a Suns fan so of course the Spurs are our rivalry and the Lakers are our division rivals (plus now we got the whole Shaq vs. Kobe thing too). The other question do you respect your rivals and think they are good but still want to crush them or do you just hate them and think they suck???

Biggest rivalries currently include (no order):

1. Miami Heat (SE Division Rival - Arenas' team vs. D-Wade's)

2. Orlando Magic (another SE Division Rival  - they've got Superman and Rashard and we still have our big three.)

3. Chicago Bulls (both teams have seen a renaissance in recent years with young teams)

4. Cleveland Cavaliers (Agent Zero vs King James - The regular season matchups have been rather competitive, but the playoffs are Jay-Z with 3, Soulja Boy with nothing.)  

Objectively among basketball teams

1. Duke/North Carolina men's basketball (You can't get bigger than this for rivalries.  These schools hold seven national championships, numerous final fours, and home of two of the best coaches ever to be in the game)

2. Kentucky/Louisville (Another intrastate rivalry with two very prestigious programs, but it's fallen a bit since both schools have declined somewhat)

3. Lakers/Celtics (with or without bandwagons - Also the only NBA rivalry to last through the test of time easily)

4. UConn/Tennessee women's basketball (The Duke/UNC of women's ball.  WNBA players for each of these two schools still HATE each other, not to mention their coaches.  I'd put this higher if women's ball has been more established than it is)

lakers vs. celtics..

even though i agree that the FANS of the celtics are bandwagon fans i think that this year the rivalry was reborn.

i mean this is the first time in a long time that so many Bostonians have been actually excited about the nba..

plus the history of this rivalry is awesome.. bird, magic johnson, mchale, kareem, parish..and now, allen, garnett, kobe, and pierce..i mean what's not to love!

im a huge sac kings fan. so in the early 2000's...it was kings/lakers. never liked the lakers...never will.

too bad they never got over that hump.

right now. i like spurs/suns. i hate shaq but i really wish that they could get over that obstacle and become the first legit 'offensive' nba finalist. losing game 1 in double OT really took the wind out of their sails. hope they can do it this year and at least know the spurs out on their own.

rockets/jazz. being a houston resident, i think the rockets (if healthy) can get the jazz this year. with crazy man artest in the mix, i think they finally got a bruiser who will protect yao and t-mac when times get tough.boozer wont have it as easy this time around...

True Im a Rockets fan and we have 2 rivalries. Jazz/Rockets and Mavericks/Rockets. The Dallas/Houston rivalry just carried over from football. San Antoinio isnt really our rival but we hate them and they hate us. And yes the Dallas/Houston rivalry is a HATE rivalry. Dallas people think Houston is a dirty city, and us Houstonians think Dallas is a s****. city.
