Question:

Best roller coaster for a beginner at Six Flags Great Adventure?

I'm 17 and have always been terrified of roller coasters. After his begging, I promised my boyfriend that for his birthday I'd go with him to Six Flags Great Adventure, and I'm completely a nervous wreck. I need to get over my fear. What is the best roller coaster for me to start out on? If not a roller coaster at first, which other ride would help me be a bit more relaxed about riding a roller coaster?

P.S. The feeling of dropping is the thing that scares me about the roller coasters, although I'm not a huge fan of the heights either, but that's more of a minor concern.

  1. might as well go on the scariest one first. after that you can take all the rest. thats what i did and i used to cry on the way to the roller coaster. LOL

  2. Agree with above, start on the Runaway Mine Train then do rolling thunder.  Go on each a few times before you go on some of the bigger ones.  And another thing you could do (and I dont' know if this will help or hinder) but go to youtube and can ride these coasters virtually first ... get used the sights and sounds etc.

  3. Runaway Mine Train is pretty tiny but still fun

Also Black Beard's Lost Treasure train is fun but very small

these will help you get started well

  4. I thnk the best 1 4 a beg. is Skull Mountain, just bcuz is 1 of the babiest @ the park. This rollr coastr doesnt evn make u scream, just laff. My personal 1st 1 was superman, and tht helpd me get ovr my fears prtty well! Gud luck!

  5. you should start on something with maybe a 60 foot drop
