My vote is for Federico Mendez (Argentina) knocking out England hard man Paul Ackford......... nice going for an 18 year old in his first Test match!!!!

In the late 60's, early 70's France had 'n lock forward by the name of Alain Plantefol. Very big, robust player. Some would say he was a dirty player.

South-Africa's hooker was one Gys Pitzer who played his rugby in the then Northern Transvaal. In the game at Loftus ,France vs Norther Transvaal, Plantefol was really getting into the NT forwards. He floored the great Frik du Preez with a vicious overhead punch after 'n line-out.

In the ensuing ruck Gys Pitzer planted the most amazing short right hook. On the receiving end was Plantefol. He dropped like an ox and stayed down. Plantefol was carried off the field and did not return. NT won the game.

My brother in law he  punched th ref and knocked out 2 of his teeth i also think it is one of his biggest regrets in life.Banned for Life.

I agree with you as so would he, he made that mistake 20 year ago and as it was a small village his kids have never stood a chance in the game, you don't mess with the un touchables.Hey having said that time has calmed him and he is not a bad guy.

During the 1971 Lions Tour of New Zealand the Lions had a rough time with their hard men in the front row . They continued to use tactics on many of the new Zealand Provincial sides which were disruptive and aimed at taking out Key New Zealand players .. Finally they came up against Canterbury and the front row of the lions tried it on again . Fed up the Canterbury Forwards decided to hit back and sort these Lions out .. The Lions front row were warned for tactics and The lions Props Sandy Carmicheal and Ray McLoughlan came under fire .. Both were knocked out of the Tour  in that match .. Mcloughlan with a busted hand due to king hitting Griz Wiley and Sandy Carmicheal was king hit after repeated warnings with a Punch that has gone down in history as one of the best ever seen .. The Punch broke Carmicheals Cheek bone in several places and the Scot was left in a sad state and invalided out of the Tour .. The Punch was said to have been delivered by AllBlack and Canterbury Hardman and Prop Alister Hopkinson ..
