Who is the best runningback in the cfl, as in running back you'd most want on your team?

I would agree...Charles Roberts but look out for the following:

Jesse Lumsden, Jeff Johnson and Andre Durie.  These three light up the field!!

Charles Roberts is the best running back going into this season, but Jesse Lumsden has a huge upside --- big, fast, a Canadian at a position filled by Americans most of the time, but injury-prone.

George Reed was the best ever, playing at a time when running backs were rarely used as receivers.

Definiatly a healthy (whenever that is) Jesse Lumsden

He has more injuries than an MMA fighter, but when healthy this boy can run through and around any defender in the entire cfl.

He definitely doesn't play for the Eskimos.  That is where RB's go to end their career and fade in to nothingness.  Lumsden is the best workhorse back, but Roberts is the most explosive.  If you had to choose between the two today you would take Lumsden based on age and import ratio.......

Joe Smith definitely deserves a mention.  He has put up a great season and a half.

I second Joe Smith.  Having seen him run over the Stampeders on numerous occasions, I'd take him over Roberts.

Jesse Lumsden is an interesting choice, but he's never played a full season of CFL football.  He has shown flashes of brilliance, and if his health can hold up, he has the potential to be a star, but right now, I'd definitely take Smith, Roberts, and even Joffrey Reynolds over him.

The only reason you'd want Lumsden instead of 'Blink' is because he's ratio buster.
