Best saddle?

I'm FINALLY getting a new saddle, and i would like to get feedback on some good saddles. Right now I have a Wintec All Purpose Saddle. I need a new All Purpose saddle, and I definately do not want it from Wintec (the saddle was terrible) I have no money limit so its ok if the saddles are expensive. Any companies you know that are good?

  1. Stubben:  Sigfreid or Wotan

  2. If you have no money limit, go for a Bates. You can use them on practically any horse because most of them have the easy change gullet system and they are nice on your horse's back. My friend has one that I've ridden in a couple of times and it is really comfy. The all purpose is kinda funky looking, my friend has the Event and I've heard good things about the close contact.

  3. My favourite saddles are Stubben.

Some good English saddles are; E Jefferies & sons, Albion Legend, Ideal Saddle co.

  4. If you are doing jumping and dressage, event saddles are best, but if you are doing jumping and just some general riding, all purpose saddles are fine. Some quality brands that carry all purpose saddles, and event saddles are...

    Bates

    Pessoa

    Collegiate

    HDR

    Courbette

    Berlin

    Crosby

    Ovation

  5. I absolutely love "Crosby's" I have 3 of them!

  6. As a few of the posters have stated, STUBBEN probably makes one of the BEST if NOT the BEST all purpose saddle (Siegfried) around.

I've owned saddles from Crosby's Prix De Nations (Close contact), Crump's Prix De Salute (Also Close Contact), to Passier, Courbette and several Stubbens (Siegfried and Parzival.).

The two saddles I still have and use, happen to be my Stubbens.  My AP, Siegfried and my dressage Parzival.

  7. The Butet. HANDS DOWN. This saddle will last light-years if you take excellent care of it and it balances you properly. It also very comfortable and many top Grand Prix riders and Professionals own several. Are you sure you have an extra $4,700 in your pocket? If you don't, used ones are better because all the hard, aggravating work of oiling the heck out of it is done for you ; ).

My trainer purchased hers in 1993 and still has it today. That tells you something.

  8. Antares, pessoa, and devacoux

  9. I would highly recommend a Crosby or Collegiate. Both of those brands have great quality saddles. I have an older crosby and I love it.
