Best schools / resale value in Charlotte, NC.?

Hello. I am looking to purchase a home in Charlotte, NC. Before I contact a realtor, I would like to identify locations with the highest resale value AND reputations for the best schools. Can anyone suggest neighborhoods or communities based on experience? Thank you!

I am most familiar with the south Charlotte & Western Union County areas.  I have 3 children in public schools right now and I am extremely satisfied.  (We relocated from NY 10 years ago, but before my kids were in school, so I don't have a true frame of comparison.)  Resale values have been fairly steady in these areas.
