i work at a horse rescue in plymouth and i finally own my favorite appaloosa mare that i've been looking after. she's finally coming around to the point where she completely trusts me and will let me put a saddle on her but i'm stopping there for a while. at the rescue, we had electric fencing with three strands. since i've been there, she respected the fencing but now we have horse proof vinyl fencing. i was told that in the past she would lean into the electric fence so it would fall over then she would lead the herd out of the small pasture. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience in this. i would like to keep her at my house but i dont have any fencing but alot of land. i'm taking her to UNH next fall and boarding her at the campus while i major in equine sciences. but i dont know if i should try an electic fence or not risk it and spend the money on a legitimate fence until we go to UNH. i wont be living at the house after,so any suggestions for a cheap temporary fence?
