Best skin lightener or toner????

Question

i want to get my friend a skin lightener, because she says the only thing she wants for her b day is something like that.She 17 so she old enough to use most products. My question is what is the best skin lightener out there, for someone whose a lil lighter then Tyrese. and how long does it takes to show improvement. I would prefer answer from people who has use a product and has had the same problem. Thank you. ( this thing is telling me that i need at lest 20 characters, so i had to write this.) or if not skin lightener, then something that would even out your skin.
