What is the best small, low maintenance pet for me to get?

i think a hamster is a fun pet at first but can get boring and very smelly i think that a small dog, ferret(also smelly), cat or even a snake is fun. But a hamster is inexspensive and very cheap to take care of. But a dog or cat on the other hand are exspensive to buy and to care for.

yes an ant farm would be the **** too;)

hamster or gerbils. ant farm, worm farm. nocturnal gecko like a leopard gecko. rats, chinchillas, ferrets, degus, etc. can get very expensive when it comes to vet bills. keep in mind cage size, do you want a pet to handle, will you be able to provide adequate care and vet care, food, where you will buy/rescue the animal. do a LOT of research.
