Apple computers are the safest, but for Windows, Vista is really secure.

I think you mean viruses.  Apple has fewer viruses in the wild for their OS because it has a much lower distrubution and thus not as big a target as Windows.

Saying all that Vista is actually a very secure OS.  Just install a virus scanner(many free good ones) and I doubt you will ever have a problem.

Apple is SAFER than Windows because there's less Apple systems out there than Windows...

I use Vista and it's okay. There's actually a scan for Windows Defender.

As long as you download the right anti-virus softwares, you should be okay...

1. Avira Personal Edition (Much higher detection rate than AVG or Avast)

3. Spyware Search and Destroy

4. CCleaner(this actually cleans out your registry, but it's really really handy)

Apple is safer for now even without anti virus because hackers don't try to attack them because there are far less Apples than computers that run windows. However, if hackers decided to attack them, they would be just as vulnerable as windows machines until some protection were provided.
