  1. Pass a law that if a manufacturer or retailer sells a product in our USA, that they must TAKE BACK the product for recycling when it gets old or fails to work right, and do not let them simply "dispose" of it when a customer brings something back to them.

Boy would they work on getting rid of unnecessary resources and make things recyclable then!  The idea of automobiles having a long-life engine, transmission, frame and chassis so the customer only buys a new body and interior, but the rest of the car remains the same, might have the dust brushed back off that idea!  Look what restoration experts do to make vintage junk heaps into works of art?

  2. I literally recycle everything that I can (which is sometimes hard because I live in a dorm).  I recycle what everyone considers- soda cans, aluminum containers, stuff like that....but I go way beyond that. I recycle all paper, cardboard boxes, plastics, tin-foil, ink-catridges, food cointaners..... I donate un-used clothing and school supplies to people who really need them...they are just going to sit in my closet or drawer and not be used, so they might as well get re-used if they have already been made/purchased!

The biggest thing when it comes to recycling is that people say that they 'just forget to do it.' To pervent that from happening- when I am in the dorm, I have seperate bins/bags for various things and then bring it to the central area for them to dispose of it apropriately, but What I do when I am at home though- is make sure that you just have seperate containers for all the various things you are reycling right next to your garbage can. It's hard to just throw say, cans, in the garbage can when there is a bucket for them right next to it! It is easy becuase there is no forgetting that way!

I would also contact your local town hall or waste management services and see what exact things you can/can not recycle in your area. There might be a lot of things you can that you didnt think you would be able to!
