I am 34, but I have sports all my life, martial arts, soccer, volley ball, handball, basket ball, foot ball, swimming, etc.

I am very fit, therefore I really wanted to prepare myself for the next Olympic games 2012. What sport do you think would suit best people in their mid to late 30's ??

This is a genuine question

  1. Weightlifting?

  2. Why not shooting?

  3. Equestrian or water polo.

  4. Swimming, Don't you see Torres get silver medal in Female 50m freestyle?

    She's 40+, right?

  5. i seen some of the competitors were a little older in triathlon or maybe the marathon

  6. The reason most of the older athletes are in the olympics is because they are so experienced/the sport takes years and years of dedication to make it too that level (in equestrian it can take some people over 20 years just to qualify).

Find a sport you like and are good at, but I really wouldn't count on the olympics, these athletes are the best in the country, and most have been practicing from very young ages. I narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Australian gymnastics team when I was 16 at the Nationals meet(due to an Achilles injury) so I know how hard it is to qualify.

  7. I ain't got a clue but you can forget all about women's gymnastics, especially if you're Chinese. ROFL!

  8. I think the sport you feel you are most dominate in. I don't think age matters as long as you are healthy both physically and mentally. And you are a great athlete.

Hope to see you in 2012! Hopefully I'll be rowing!

  9. I'm about the same age as you. I would say you should try out for the Triathlon. If I were athletic, I would try out for it. It's a grueling sport though. But...you have four years to prepare. Good luck!

  10. shooting, equestrian, archery

most other stuff you will be way out of prime age...
