Best starter motorcycle?

Question

I'd like to have something like a cruiser that looks cool, can drive moderately fast, and is able to be on the high way. I have looked at Yamaha's bikes and I like the V-Star, but I definitely prefer the Warrior. After I get a year or two of experience on a bike, I plan on purchasing the Warrior, but until then, my first bike will be my main motive of transportation.

What do you suggest?

I'm glad you added your height and weight .. because my first suggestion a Rebel-250 would not be a great choice any more (they're small).  

When choosing a first bike, assuming you've never ridden before, I recommend you stay within the limits of a beginner bike ... lower weight and lower power.  I like the the Kawi Vulcan 500, but it sounds like you're already looking bigger.  

Get a used one ... there's a good chance you're gonna drop it, and it's very painful to see a dropped formerly-new bike.  The 2nd bike can be new :)
