Best state for golfer?

Which state do you think is best for golfers to live in ?

There are 50 states where a golfer may claim it best. The true addict doesn't care where he lives so long as there are facilities where the game is played. Also those facilities don't have to be very fancy to please him.

Michigan has the most courses of any state. As an added bonus, Michigan is a sportsman's paradise for most other sports, providing a year-round experience like few others in America.

That is tough. Florida and California are the obvious answers, but South Carolina and New York have some excellent courses and clubs that are relativly inexpensive in comparison. The Scottsdale area of Arizona features some excellent courses as well. New York features 11 of the Golf Digest Top 100 courses, but you will face brutal winters in the northern part of the state. Every state has its pros and cons. In the end it is up to you to decide which state is appropriate for your golf needs.
