  1. The Metro station across the river from Anacostia seems to have ample parking.  However, I agree with Shoredud that a train from Fredericsburg, or even Woodbridge would be the best.

  2. "If" coming on Sundays, then no problem bec meter parking in DC and Arlington is free as well as after 6PM unless say Bus Zone then extra heavy fine.  I wouldn't advise VA Railway Express or Fredericksburg bec train service is not throughout the day and mainly AM and PM rush hour...and two good choices would be (i) Springfield Franconia bec if full then you could dropoff and then drive to large retail mall where parking is free and Metro Station is within walking distance.  Second choice would be to look hard for an empty12 hour green colored parking meters around Pentagon City or Crystal City and carry roll of quarters and cover time just past 6PM.

    Hope the Above Info Helps!

  3. Coming north on I-95 the easiest would be Franconia-Springfield.  On a weekday, 10 or 11 will be way to late to find a parking space.  Most Metro lots are full before 9.  Your best bet would be to try Virginia Railway Express at Fredericksburg.

  4. I sometimes park at Pentagon City and by buying something at the mall get my parking validated.
