Best straightner chi , corioliss , sedu/other brands ?

i am willing to pay more than 100 for a hair straightners cause my crappy 30 dollar hair straightner made my hair have lots of spilt ends so i went to the salon to get it trimmed. so can you please tell me which one is better and do they cause a lot of spliit ends? do i need to buy protective hairspray. ?
