Best strategy to beat a better team?

I'm playing a 4.0 match at #1 and my partner and I are basically strong 3.5's. We are playing #1 basically as a sacrifice, but I'd love to at least give the other team a challenge.

  1. I would say going into the match approach just as if you are playing #2, #3 or #100, play your game and not their game. Going into the match you and your partner have nothing to lose, you are playing up at a higher level so just think of it as a challenge. There is going to be more pressure on them going in because they are going to be expected to win, so just play your game, have fun with it and you will get into their heads right off the back. Good Luck!

  2. Be pushers. It pisses them off.

  3. i hate pushers.

    but good tactic dude.

  4. Here are a few strategies...

Most players have stronger forehands than backhands, so just hit everything to your opponents backhands (very annoying, plus you should get some easy volleys).

Try throwing in some junk too: lobs, moonballs (very high lobs), short slices-stuff without pace.

Play with both players on the baseline.  As long as you push, your opponents wont be able to hit winners (there are two of you on the baseline, not one) and your net partner is no longer a target.

  5. Just play pusher keep pushing the ball deep into the baseline i actually lost at leagues to a guy i was better but all he did was push it at me and i lost in the tiebreak 5-7
