Question:

Best stroller/car seat?

I'm purchasing a new car seat and stroller combination soon and have to keep in mind that I'm taking a trip to Disney in January and will have a 4 month old.

Any suggestions??? I definitely want a stroller/car seat that work together and obviously something light and easy that will be good for the plane and trip.

Thanks so much!

  1. CHICCO the car seat cradles the baby so the baby's head doesn't go forward like in every other car seat, its also really sturdy, and the straps in the stroller as well as the car seat, aren't like rocket science to try,and adjust.

    Took me two mins total

  2. i love the chicco brand they are several different types of strollers that will work with a infant seat.

  3. I love my Graco travel system, but it is not light, and with the charges they put out now for carry on and baggage it would not be a good idea.  There are several companies that make stroller frames for carrying a car seat.  I would try one of them and then whatever car seat you like best!  Have fun at Disney!

  4. If you want the lightest possible option you'll actually want to get an infant seat, base, and then a universal car seat carrier, like Snap 'n Go (there are others, Kolcraft and Combi make one as well). That is the lightest way to go.

However - its important to realize that most babies outgrow their infant carrier seat at 4-7 months old. So if you buy the standard 22lbs infant seat, there is a good chance you won't be able to use on the plane and in Disney when the child is 4 months old. The GRaco SafeSeat infant seat goes to 30lbs, and will last 99% of babies to at least their first year, and fits many kids longer than that. If you're wanting to make sure you can use that carrier on your trip, I would get that. It is also a car seat tech favorite. The SafeSEat is also easy to use and easy toinstall b/c of built-in locking clips. You can get a safeseat travel system or individually. It will not fit on the standard Graco strollers, the stroller has to be made for the safeseat. I don't know if the safeseat will work on the universal car seat carriers - make a trip to babies r us and try it out.

Chicco Keyfit30 also goest to 30lbs, but it is the exact same seat as teh KEyfit22, just tested to a higher weight. So its not actually likely a child will last any longer in it.
