Question:

Best studio speakers?

basically i am going to uni at the end of this year and need some good studio speakers (preferably powered) i have a very good system at the moment (sony 5.1 surround amp, mission 773e front and rear speakers and kef center) however,

i understand studio speakers will always sound slightly different to normal speakers and you will always get a less 'impressive' sound, but i am a dj and musician and would like a good small speaker system for my new living space (they dont need to be too loud)

i have been looking at :Alesis M1 Active 520 Powered Studio Monitors red Studio Monitors

does anyone have any negative or postive feedback on these or any other suggestions,

my budget is around £150

thanks

  1. Mach speakers are pretty nice.  They sound really clear.

  2. Bose

  3. Completely the wrong section, but none the less,

~Stay away from BOSE, they distort the sound horribly bad

Shure makes nice, high quality speakers for the money.

As far as affordable studio monitors go, M Audio has a couple of nice powered speaker sets that alot of my friends in the music department use.
