My glasses are old. They have a bunch of little scratches that give me a headache. Know of anything I could use to get rid of the scratches that actually works?

  1. I have to agree with Rottendo and Mererid, and that would most epsecially apply to acrylic lenses.

AND beyond that in a most microscopic sense as it relates to an eyeglass Scrip, and the optical qualities of the lense material, consider for a moment how the scratches got there in the first place. Might you then assume that any compound created to remove scratches, also leaves some evidence behind, of it's buffing qualities, and perhaps just be more visible as close to your eye as glasses have to be?

  2. I have friends that swear by this.  Good luck!

  3. You could try to sand it with 1000 grade or more the better, then use rubbing compound to wipe the glasses.

  4. Anything you do to erase the scratches will alter the surface of the lens, which will in turn alter the prescription.  If the scratches are already giving you headaches, removing them could make things worse.  Try to get an eyecheck.  You could ask the optician about scratch removal if you can't afford new lenses.

  5. An eye exam and new glasses. The scratches may only be the tip of this iceberg.

  6. use brasso, lots of little rubs will slowly wear down the surface of the glass
