  1. 1st of all there is a lot of critisism here that i agree with and also disagree with (each to their own) honestly i wouldnt bother with a sucker fish but if your adiment you want one and believe you can look after it properly the 1st one would be a borneo sucker or butterfly loach/pleco its actually A loach but as someone said they do sometimes suck the protective slime coat off the other fish and these fish do also need fast flowing well oxygenated water with rounded rocks (imitating  stream) so not the best for a gold fish tank also a PLECO is a possibility as they are tollerant i have one in a unheated tank myself and have seen them in tanks with fancy goldfish before on a few occasions but they do grow massive even the small ones so space is an issue aggain but there is another option theres a fish that you could get that is a coldwater fish not a sucker does great with most fish is totaly amazing different and will eat alot of cra from the bottom of your tank called a weather loach (dojo loach) i have 4 they are absolutely fantastic to watch and have great personality but prefer to be in groups and not single look these fish up on wikepedia theres loads about them although not a sucker they are great scavengers also as advice i would recoment you just upgrade to your larger tank now as the fish will enjoy it more and so will you

  2. I have a tank with two fantail goldfish. They are good at cleaning the tank, but because I am obsessive I got a small Plecostomus. They're awesome. :]

  3. None. Your tank is fully/overstocked as it is with two orandas.

"suckerfish" cannot be kept with goldfish, many are known for sucking on the slime coat of goldfish, leaving them open to disease and parasites.

plecos are tropical fish, very messy, and it's easy to accidentally buy one that grows enormous. otocinclus are in the same family as plecos, they are VERY sensitive tropical fish and are also known for slime coat sucking, they can never be kept with goldfish.

hillstream loaches/borneo suckers/butterfly plecos (all the same fish), while being sub-tropical and liking cooler temperatures, should NOT be kept with goldfish. they are highly sensitive to water quality issues (which messy goldfish can easily mess up) and prefer a good strong current - which fancy goldfish cannot cope with.

fancy goldfish must be kept in goldfish tanks only, no other fish. they really need 50-70 litres each minimum, not a pair in 50 litres.

  4. only goldfish should be kept with goldfish

but try a cold water apple snail or rams-horn or trumpet snails

the only coldwater suckerfish i can think of would be a hillstreem loach (butterfly pleco) (bornio sucker)

they need heavy aeration and fast water and should not be kept with goldfish

  5. none. Your tank is way too over stocked. Goldfish need at least 20g for one, and add 10 for any others. So you'd need about a 115 litre tank, just for the goldfish. Goldfish get HUGE, can live up to 20 years, and create a ton of waste.

  6. try a borneo algae eater they are small, go well with goldfish and they are also coldwater fish perfect for all your needs

    good luck

  7. pleco..i think that is what they are called..they come in all sizes

  8. you could go for a butterfly plec sometimes known as a hong kong plec as these are small and will live in cold water. or you could go for a sucking loach as long as it is one advertised as being temperate and has already been exposed to cold temperatures.

both of these are suitable under the assumption that you have a filter in your tank.

  9. I was sold coldwater butterfly plec they are so cute hope it helped. If they said you need a bigger tank on this site I would listen I do not know much about orandas.Good Luck

  10. 50 litres is very small for the 2 orandas you have and it would be best to get the big tank up and running to avoid stunting them, adding a sucker fish, i think you mean a plecostumus, is a very bad idea, most plecos will outgrow your current tank(though should fit your bigger tank),and they are very messy fish,as are goldfish,so you will be needing to do almost daily water changes to keep nitrates down in your smaller tank.goldfish,no matter what variety, are all scavengers, and will eat anything they can find, if you have an algae problem then its either too much sunlight, or over feeding with not enough water changes which is increasing the nitrates in your tank which allow algae to bloom. plecos need driftwood and vegetation in their diet too, they will die if left to just eat the algae. if you really want something to clean the sides of the tank, without increasing the bio-load, use a clean scourer pad, its what i use on mine, or maybe you could add a couple of snails, they breed like crazy though, but when you get your big tank up and running maybe add a few snails and a trio of dojo loaches which will then keep your snail population down. hope this helps.

  11. I would not get them a sucker fish cuz goldfish are good bottom eaters and snails can have lots of them growing inside the tank and my friends say that sometimes he needs to kill them. Kinda sad but too many in there...

But if you think your tank needs one of those sucker fish...I would get it. Like once my tank once...i needed it and I got one but it die so I clean the tank.

  12. 'OTO CATFISH' a small catfish with sucker-mouth. will grow only bout 5 cm (largest) compared to plecos (will grow BIG) and golden/ siamese/ chinese algae eater (up to 15cm).

..or you can get trumpet snail/ ramshorn or other snail that will help you keep your tank free from algae.
