Question:

Best tandem or double stroller?

My daughter is currently 3 1/2 years old. She weighs about 40-45 pounds and is a meter tall. My second baby is due 3 days after my daughters 4th birthday. Of course, a double stroller is pretty high on my list of things to buy. But I need one that will be able to hold my daughter for at least a year after the baby is born (she's already to heavy for some double strollers) and one that I can navigate with a very bad back.

I've heard that some of the strollers with the benches can hold up to 80 lbs on the bench seat, but I'm not sure how she'd like not being able to see in front of us, and basically being stuck looking at my legs. Plus, I'm not sure how comfortable she'd be in it.

Can anyone make some suggestions? If you've tried the bench tandem strollers, how did your older child like them, and how did you like them? And if not, what are some good brands of the two-seaters that will hold a larger child for awhile?

Also, price is a semi-issue so please keep that in mind while replying.

  2. I bought a Graco double stroller (front and back) - side to side you can't get in through any doors. Anyway, the Graco cost about $70 at Target a year ago. The front can hold 80 lbs.
