Hi,

I need to buy my brother who is a beginner in tennis a racket. He is 17 years old though. I would like to give him something he can use for a long time but at the same time something really good. Any suggestions ?

  1. the most important thing when buying a racket is if it feels good. the grip, the weight, the head weight. he should go with you and try some out, see what racket feels more comfortable to him.

  2. get him a raquet that he thinks looks cool. get him one his size and make sure you get a shock absorber.

  3. Okay I can tell you don't play tennis and your bro is a beginner. (no offence i was the same way) You need to start with a wal-mart cheepy and some lessons. Don't get him a good one right away. Cause he may not like tennis and then what? You just blew 50-300 dollars on a racket! Get a wal mart cheepy. At my lessons I have a wilson and I am undefeated. It's not about the racket as much as it is about practice and talent.

  4. I would get him a Prince Hybrid Shark.  It costs 60 dollars.  It is the tennis magazine editor's choice.  It is incredibly good for its cost.

  5. Go to a sports department store and have him try out different rackets to see what feels the most comfortable to him. Beginner rackets should be something lightweight, and when he starts to get better he should try a heavier racket.

  6. The best racquet is the one which you feel most comfortable with. I've been using Prince ever since I started playing, and I'm comfortable with it. So for me, it's the best racquet.

  7. I bougth the k six one tour a month ago (federers racket)  MAN THIS IS THE BEST RACKET IN THE WORLD. Its perfect for me, but its not a universal raquet, some people may not like it. Its 200$ I hardly recommend it. If he is around 6 feet or more, h**l probly be strong enough to use it well

This is the racket i have, however if he is still a beginer you should wait until he is intermediate. This racket is very light, the grip is amazing and has really good control. When you buy the racket though you should go to a shop. Never go to ***** or sports authority or anything like that. Go to a pro shop with staff who know what there talking about. He needs to get a racket that matches is grip size and he needs to like the feel. When he gets a lot better i would defnitley reccomend the Prince O3 rackets they are really good. Good luck! i hope your brother gets really good :)
