Hi, I'm going to be heading to Germany in two weeks, and I'm trying to look through travel books to decide what I want to do, but between restaurants, clubs, museums, sites, etc., there's just too many things listed. For people who have lived or visited there, what are some of your top favorite sites and things to do? Any help would be much appreciated!

  1. SHOP. i could spend forever there shopping in downtown berlin! just start at one end and just walk! any of the cafes are delicious! anywhere you eat it very good. make sure you make several stops for gelato and pretzels in the bakeries! thats what you'll miss the most! i am pretty sure this is in berlin but go to the Checkpoint Charlie Museum. it is very very neat! a cool place about the war, they have the most coolest things there, like pictures and demonstrations of how people crossed over east/west berlin in cars, boxes, canoes, everything. its a really cool place. of course see the berlin wall. not what you are expecting though! it is not some great wall, but very cool! i only got about 20 minutes at it and im very sad. you have to ride the subways/trains. they are very confusing and a little on the expensive side, but worth it for the experience! but im warning you, my fluent german teachers couldnt figure it out! they had to ask for help. everyone speaks english they'll help you if you are polite...most are a little edgy towards americans if you are one. hope you have fun =]
