My husband and I will be in NY city from Sept 20-77. We are staying close to Times square - best places to eat, shows to see, things to do? Anything that is off the beaten path would be great as we know all about the most popular attractions. Thanks a bunch...

  1. The best thing to do in NY....don't plan a thing!

But if you must ruin the fun and excitement of exploring the greatest city in the U.S then you must go to..... Soho to buy & haggle, take a stroll in Central Park, People and Pigeon watch ( they're crazy) , Get totally lost, visit a hidden restaurant that you walk past......and relax

  2. My friend, there are plenty of this to do in NYC in late Sept. May I recommend a few.

    -Empire State Building

    -Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island

-Rockefeller Center and the Top of the Rock Observation Deck

    -Yankee Stadium

-Times Square (no trip is complete without a visit to the"Crossroads of the World")

    -Lower Manhattan/Wall Street Area

    -United Nations

    -Central Park

-Brooklyn Bridge (you can walk across it too)

-Grand Central Terminal (largest railroad terminal in the country)

    -Museums

    -Broadway Show

    -Shopping

I hope this information is very helpful.

    Good luck and happy travels

  3. Visit the cloisters in upper Manhattan. It is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Rockerfeller brought over parts of medieval monasteries and filled them with art. There are lovely gardens and nice views of the palisades.
