Best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?

Question

Looking for personal experiences and SPECIFIC suggestions; I'm checking out a lot of websites but want to know what people think of tours and sightseeing places they've actually been to.

Also want to know if there's anything we should avoid because it sucks or is just plain a rip-off.

We know we want to go snorkeling at least one day (we'll be there a week) and there are a lot of tours and we'd like to know which areas are the best.

We're up for just about anything, but not really into art/museums.

You will need to do canopy los veranos for sure  and go to the booze cruise and includes open bar brackfast, lunch and you get to snorkel   and is like 35 usd and horse back riding with rancho raiders for 16 per hour or you can go on a combo horseback raiding and canopy for 105 usd, they have that special on this website: http://www.thingstodoinvallarta.com/

We have really enjoyed snorkle tours with both Geronimo, a smaller, friendlier boat, and Vallarta Adventures, bigger and more party atmosphere but very knowledgable guides and good food included. Also with Vallart Adventures we did the San Blas swamp tour one year which was a blast, seeing wild crocodiles and other wildlife up close. The canopy tours are a blast. I did the one with Vallarta Adventures and had a great time but have heard that Los Veranos is better. Sunday evening you should make it downtown and join the locals strolling the malecon, checking out the vendors, artists and craftsmen and performances at Los Arcos amphitheter and thd plaza near the cathedral. And that's just scratching the surface.
