Best time of the year to visit Cancun?

Our family is planing a trip for next year to Cancun. When would be the best time to go?

Whats it like during spring break (mid April 2009) verses the summer (June-August 2009)

If you go during spring break, air and hotel prices are high. May, June and July are good months to travel to Cancun. July could be a bit hot.

I was there in May and we had great weather and the crowds were not bad.

Check out the Riviera Maya area it has less crowds and great for families in mid April. (Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Tulum and Akumal)

Be careful not to go during college spring break, but April is the preferred time to go. June to August is okay, but a bit hotter and you are getting closer to hurricane season.

Spring break is over by the first weekend in April, most years. I recommend the best time for your family to go is between then and early June. By late June, it starts to get very hot and there are many more families and prices go up at that time.
