Best time of year to buy a new car?

Now that the economy is in the toilet I was thinking about getting a new car. I have heard that the car makers are having a hard time selling cars right now. Should I wait it out a little longer from the economy to get a little worse or start looking to buy one now? Are there better car deals at the end of the year?

The best time is like in late August that's when the price starts lowering for the old models. That way you can get a better price for the car you like.
