Question:

Best time of year to re-roof house in PHX?

Basically, I'm wondering if there is a time of year that roofers cut their prices. It's summer, so I'm not sure if it would cost more now than in the winter - especially since monsoon season is coming & everyone preparing for rain (HA!). Anyone had a roof put on a house recently in the Phx metro area?

  1. I would think that they would not change prices........but most roofers.....go to work early in the morning and get all they can lay on before it gets hot. Don't know what type of roofing your referring to............if it's composition and not to steep the guys can lay it standing ..........rather than sitting ........it cuts down the foot marks.................Hope it helps....bye

  2. waiting until later in the year to have one put on is only a nicety to the roofers and will in no way change the cost of your roof. roofers charge by the square aka 100 square feet, they should be able to give you a set price for tear off, and MAKE SURE they remove the old roof, new paper, at least a 25 year shingle, new drip edge and flashing, and REMOVAL/ cleanup. i haven't done roofing in 10 years but as a side business i charged $100 per square and $500 for each layer of roofing over one layer. the only thing you may have to arrange yourself is a building permit depending on your towns building code...
