Best time of year to travel to Ireland?

Also, what time of year can I get the best airfares from LAX?

I have been told by several Irish people, my boyfriend included, that the best time of year in Ireland is July/August.  I am not sure about airfare from LAX, but I know that the cheapest fares to Ireland are off season during the winter.  The best airlines to check for flights to Ireland would be Aer Lingus and American Airlines.

  july, aug, sept are all pretty good times to travel to ireland. but the hotel rates are a little lower the first 2 weeks of sept cause its not high session. air lingus is the main airline over here so it may be a little cheaper. if you are traveling around dont book accomidation in advance, its very easy to get hotels over here and you will get better deals by walking into hotel or checking the local news papers.( the independent, the times, you can get them in any grocery shop around ireland) enjoy . slan go foil (goodbye).

I had done some research prior to a trip to Eire myself and found that the month of August was both the warmest and the driest month of the year.  I was there the last two weeks of August and first week of September and it worked out perfectly.  It only rained briefly a day or two on the west coast and the weather was warm enough that short sleeves were comfortable...my buddy even wore short pants on many days.

As far as airfare, American Airlines website www.aa.com offers specials overseas often.  They even fly direct from Chicago to Dublin, so a simple connection in Chicago can get you from LAX to Dublin in no time.
